Here are three thoughts following the Twins' loss to Cleveland on Saturday:

1. NO PITCHERS CONTROVERSY: I wondered if Twins manager Ron Gardenhire would express concern over P.J. Walters' outing on Saturday, but he gave no indications that Walters' spot in the rotation was in trouble. ``We haven't seen that in awhile and hopefully we won't see that again," Gardenhire said. When asked if he was worried about him after two poor starts, he said. ``He has pitched well for us." With Vance Worley and Kyle Gibson pitching well at Class AAA Rochester, the Twins have options.

2. FLORIMON WAS HIT BY A PITCH: Pedro Florimon was grazed on the hand by a Bryan Shaw pitch in the eighth and began to head to first base. But home plate umpire John Hirschbeck called him back, ruling that the ball was foul tipped. Florimon complained and Gardy ran out to for a debate. But Hirschbeck realized he made a mistake. The problem was that he could not change the call after he ruled it a foul ball. He told Gardy that if he had waited a moment longer to see how Florimon reacted to the pitch (he jumped and shook his hand) he would have ruled it a hit batsman.

3. FREE PARMELEE: Chris Parmelee has fallen into a reserve role because of his lack of offense. But he blasted two home runs on Saturday. Gardy is good about not letting a hitter get too stale on the bench, and Parmelee just looks like someone who eventually will figure things out and start to mash.
