Diamond goes for 10 wins as Twins take on the White Sox

Twins righthander Anthony Swarzak, who landed on the disabled list last week with a rotator cuff strain, will try to play catch on Saturday. It will be his first activity since the injury.
If that goes well, he hopes to throw in the bullpen early next week.
This is new territory for Swarzak, who had avoided the disabled list for his entire nine-year professional career. He pitched on July 25 in Chicago with no problems and had his usual velocity. But he couldn't even play catch two days later.
"It makes you appreciate all those years you were healthy," he said.
DIAMOND UP
It's going to be hard for Scott Diamond to top his last outing, when he tossed a 98-pitch complete game at Cleveland last Friday. What a year he's having. He's pitched into the sixth inning in all 16 starts and has pitched at least seven innings seven times.
If Diamond wins today. He will be the first Twin to win 10 games in a season since 2010. That's right, the Twins didn't have a double digit winner last season.

And, the baseball staff at the Star Tribune would like to wish Molly Gallatin farewell and good fortune. Gallatin, the Twins manager of publications, is leaving her position to pursue other opportunities. She has always been there for us when we needed help with information, stats, photos, press credentials....anything. Friday officially will be her last day but today is the last Twins game she'll be able to work. She will be missed.
Molly, don't be surprised if I come up with a request on Friday...
