We're watching Twins pitchers take some batting practice (mostly bunting). Now they are talking with coach Jerry White about proper baserunning technique. Interleague play is coming up next week when the Twins head to Milwaukee for the Border Battle.

Interesting lineup today. Span, Dozier, Komatsu, Mastroianni and Carroll surround the heart of the order. Don't get me wrong. This ain't the 1985 Cardinals. But I smell some ambush baseball coming. That's if they don't fall behind early.

Will check back later with updates.

UPDATES

This, by far, gives the Twins their best defensive outfield, range-wise. And they are hoping the speed guys get on base early so they can put pressure on the Jays' defense. Jays catcher J.P. Arencibia has thrown out 35.7 percent of basestealers.

Francisco Liriano is such a nice guy. It's too bad he's going through such a tough season. He said today that he's willing to do anything he can to help the team win.

"It's been tough, to be honest," he said. "Having the spring that I had and coming into the season then walking so many guys and getting behind in the countm it's kinda tough for me. It has been up and down but I gotta find a way to get back to pitching better."

Darin Mastroianni was at dinner last night with his girfriend and her familywhen Rochester manager Gene Glynn called him with the news.

Rochester hitting coach Tom Brunansky tried to get Mastroianni to make an adjustment with his swing during spring training, but Mastroianni didn't stick with it. But Mastroianni embraced change once he arrived at Rochester and turned things around, batting .346.

The plan is to give Jamey Carroll the day off after starting every game so far this season..
