Phil Miller covered three seasons of Twins baseball, but that was at a different ballpark for a different newspaper. Now Miller returns to the baseball beat after joining the Star Tribune as the Gopher football writer in 2010, and he won't miss the dingy dome for a minute. In addition to the Twins and Gophers, Miller covered the Utah Jazz and the NBA for six years at The Salt Lake Tribune.

PORT CHARLOTTE, FLA. -- Twins center fielder Denard Span he’ll see a chiropractor today to help with his stiff neck and hopes to be back on the field Tuesday.

Span, who was limited to 70 games last year with concussion and migraine symptoms, said his neck started stiffening up during Saturday’s game against the Pirates. He was scratched from the lineup Sunday but planned to take some swings in the batting cage today.

“I’ve never had a crick in my neck, so this is something different,” Span said. “But I definitely don’t think it’s concussion-related.”

Ben Revere will be in center field today, when the Twins face Rays righthander James Shields.
