Phil Miller covered three seasons of Twins baseball, but that was at a different ballpark for a different newspaper. Now Miller returns to the baseball beat after joining the Star Tribune as the Gopher football writer in 2010, and he won't miss the dingy dome for a minute. In addition to the Twins and Gophers, Miller covered the Utah Jazz and the NBA for six years at The Salt Lake Tribune.

Monday's doubleheader sweep by Cleveland offered a reminder of how much Ben Revere makes the Twins offense go these days.

He was 0-for-9 and didn't hit the ball out of the infield as the Twins lost 5-2 in Game 1 and 6-3 in Game 2.

Revere has started 41 consecutive games since June 2, as the Twins have gone 27-14. According to Baseball-Reference.com, Revere has failed to reach base, even by error, just seven times in that stretch.

The only other time it's happened in back-to-back games was June 18-19 against San Diego.

Entering the doubleheader, Revere had scored 15 runs in the Twins' previous 16 games.

"It was a long, hot day, but I think we're all going to be energized to get 'em tomorrow," Revere said.
