Got a bunch of e-mails and twitter messages demanding the heads of the Twins' medical staff for not doing enough to keep the players healthy.

I did a rough, quick check, and found 14 other teams who had at least as many players on the disabled list as the Twins (five) did heading into yesterday. The Dodgers led with eight. Players aren't robots, folks.

Michael Cuddyer could not start today because of a stiff neck suffered when he slept on it wrong last night. That prompted this gem from Twins manager Ron Gardenhire, ``Now the hotels are beating us."

Righthander Kevin Slowey has been battling a stomach muscle issue and will have a MRI exam when he returns to the Twin Cities. That means the Twins are short in the bullpen today.

Denard Span is getting a breather today. Ben Revere is leading off and playing center in Span's place, Good for Revere, because it looks like he'll be headed to Class AAA Rochester after the game to make room for Jim Thome and Jason Repko, who are expected to be activated in time for Monday's game against Seattle.

Lefthander Dusty Hughes, called up overnight from Class AAA Rochester to replace Glen Perkins on the active roster, was expected to arrive at the park around game time or a little later.

As I write this, they are playing The Humpty Dance at Chase Field. Classic!
