"A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives." - Jackie Robinson.

While most of the country associates April 15 as the dreaded "Tax Day" the rest of us know that today's date has much more meaning behind it.

Happy Jackie Robinson Day.

Today is the 64th anniversary of the date when Robinson broke the color barrier in Major League Baseball on April 15, 1947 with the Brooklyn Dodgers at Ebbets Field. This achievement is being recognized once again around the league with ceremonies at many stadiums as each player will don no. 42 to honor his legacy.

As the Twins take the field this evening at the Trop in St. Petersburg, the first 10,000 fans will receive a Jackie Robinson t-shirt to honor his impact on baseball, sports and American Culture.
