Darko Mlicic just called his team soft.

I was there. I heard it.

Let me write that more slowly, so you can comprehend it: Darko just called his team soft.

No further questions, your honor.

The Wolves just lost, 98-90, to a Clippers team at the end of a torturous road trip, at home, with former Wolves Randy Foye and Ryan Gomes combining for 37 points.

Where will the indignities end?

Also, I get the sense that David Kahn is going into full spin mode now, trying to explain away this 13-43 record. I asked Kurt Rambis tonight if he's ``shocked" to be 13-43. He gave me a long answer, culminating with the assessment that the Wolves just don't have many good players, or a leader.

What a mess.

Also interesting: Kevin Love hurt his shoulder in the first half and tried to talk his way into staying in the lineup. Rambis dismissed him. Love said in a halftime TV interview that ``That's coach."

In the second half, Rambis removed Love and Love pleaded his case again, without getting any satisfaction.

It is interesting that the Wolves' only good player doesn't get along with the coach.

I'll address more of these issues soon, whether in print or in this space.

-I am the kiss of death. I'm impressed with the way the Wild has rallied this season, and as soon as I say that, they lose two straight.

I still believe this team can make the playoffs. Of course, I might be wrong. Again.

-Upcoming: I'll be on 1500espn at 2:40 every weekday afternoon, and I'm leaving for Fort Myers on Saturday. Sunday morning, Tom Pelissero and I will run Sunday Sports Talk from Hammond Field.
