La Velle E. Neal III has covered baseball for the Star Tribune since 1998 (the post-Knoblauch era). Born and raised in Chicago, he grew up following the White Sox and hating the Cubs. He attended both the University of Illinois and Illinois-Chicago and began his baseball writing career at the Kansas City Star. He can be heard occasionally on KFAN radio, lending his great baseball mind to Paul Allen and other hosts. Mark Rosen borrows him occasionally for WCCO-TV.

Twins not worried about Dome repairs affecting TwinsFest

Keep TwinsFest on your schedule.

The Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission has contacted organizers of upcoming events at Metrodome to warn them that repairs to the damaged roof might force those events to be cancelled.

The Twins, who will host TwinsFest on Jan. 28-30, are on that list.

Twins president Dave St. Peter said on Wednesday that they have been in contact with the MSFC about the Dome but don’t feel, at this point, that they need to look at contingency plans.

``We are confident that the Dome will be repaired in time for TwinsFest,’’ St. Peter said.
