Editor's Update: Kevin Slowey pitched seven no-hit innings and was replaced by Jon Rauch to start the eighth. Rauch promptly gave up back-to-back doubles, allowing a run to score.

Slowey had a 4-0 lead after Jim Thome hit a three-run home run in the seventh. He also had thrown 106 pitches.

Joe Mauer is back in the lineup at catcher for a day game after a night game, something the Twins have been careful not to do for a while and probably a sign that his body is feeling better.

Also, on his Sunday morning radio show (ESPN 1500), Manager Ron Gardenhire said the Twins likely will send out a catcher to make room for Nick Punto's return from the disabled list. Barring a change, look for Jose Morales to head back to Class AAA Rochester after the game.

Jason Repko is getting the start in left field today. Gardenhire said he'd like to get Delmon Young a break here and there, and this is a good chance. Monday's off day will give him two days to rest and clear his mind for the White Sox series.

Update: The Twins activated Matt Tolbert from the DL and optioned him to Class AAA Rochester.

Gardenhire said shortstop J.J. Hardy likely will start Tuesday against the White Sox. Asked how Danny Valencia's playing time could be affected when Punto returns, Gardenhire said, "I’ll mix them all around. Valencia’s playing very well and deserves to be out there right now. Nicky will get his playing time all over the infield. This is the time of year bodies are a little beat up anyway, so we’ll just mix and match."
