Twins 'moving day' TV ad debuts today

Last update: November 9, 2009 - 8:54 AM

The Minnesota Twins are running their first television commercial for the 2010 season, featuring Joe Mauer and other Twins being moved to the new stadium in much the way a family moves into a new home.

The ad for the Twins inaugural season at Target Field is titled "Twins-portation" and also features Mauer teammates Michael Cuddyer, Denard Span and Joe Nathan and a cameo appearance by former Twins manager Tom Kelly.

Out of a moving truck comes Mauer on a dolly, Span and Cuddyer in a box filled with packing peanuts and Joe Nathan being taken to the bullpen by two beefy movers.

A moving company foreman turns back a White Sox fan being unloaded in an easy chair, prompting dry and sarcastic sympathy from Manager Kelly.

Fans can view the new ad at www.twinsbaseball.com.

I made this championship belt for the push to the '09 Division Title. Gladden offered to buy it; I wanted a trade for one of his rings. He declined.
