The Star Tribune staff selected its own all-Metrodome team.

The seven current Star Tribune sports staff members who covered the team regularly during its Metrodome years selected the following all-Dome team:

FIRST BASE: Kent Hrbek

Dome seasons:
14 (1981-94). Key stats: .283 BA, 292 HR, 1,079 RBI; No. 2 in Twins career HRs

SECOND BASE: Chuck Knoblauch

Dome seasons:
7 (1991-97). Key stats: .304 BA, 713 runs, 276 SB; 1991 Rookie of the Year

SHORTSTOP: Greg Gagne

Dome seasons:
10 (1983-1992). Key stats: .249 BA, 69 HR, 452 runs; two-time world champion

THIRD BASE: Gary Gaetti

Dome seasons: 10 (1981-1990). Key stats: .256 BA, 188 HR, 755 RBI; four Gold Gloves

OUTFIELD: Kirby Puckett

Dome seasons: 12 (1984-95). Key stats: .318 BA, 207 HR, 1,085 RBI; Hall of Fame inductee

OUTFIELD: Torii Hunter

Dome seasons: 11 (1997-2007). Key stats: .271 BA, 192 HR, 711 RBI; seven Gold Gloves

OUTFIELD: Tom Brunansky

Dome seasons: 7 (1982-88). Key stats: .250 BA, 163 HR, 469 RBI; led Twins in homers 1983-85

CATCHER: Joe Mauer

Dome seasons: 6 (2004-current). Key stats: .327 BA, 396 RBI, .407 OBP; two-time batting champ

DESIGNATED HITTER: Paul Molitor

Dome seasons: 3 (1996-98). Key stats: .312 BA, 237 runs, 271 RBI; Hall of Fame inductee

STARTING PITCHER: Johan Santana

Dome seasons: 8 (2000-07). Key stats: 93-44, 3.22 ERA, Cy Young Award in 2004 and '06

STARTING PITCHER: Frank Viola

Dome seasons: 8 (1982-1989). Key stats: 112-93, 3.86 ERA, Cy Young Award in 1988

STARTING PITCHER: Brad Radke

Dome seasons: 12 (1995-2006). Key stats: 148-139, 4.22 ERA, 1.6 BB per 9 innings

STARTING PITCHER: Kevin Tapani

Dome seasons: 7 (1989-1995). Key stats: 75-63, 4.06 ERA, 2.0 BB per 9 innings

CLOSER: Joe Nathan

Dome seasons: 6 (2004-current). Key stats: 22-12, 244 saves, 1.89 ERA, four-time All-Star

The voters: Sid Hartman, Patrick Reusse, Jim Souhan, Howard Sinker, Dennis Brackin, La Velle E. Neal III and Joe Christensen
