Pete Maki will be the Twins' new minor league pitching coordinator, according to a Major League Baseball source.

Maki has been the pitching coach at Duke since July 2015. Before that, he was pitching coach at Columbia. Maki is a 2004 graduate of Franklin and Marshall in Lancaster, Pa., where he was a relief pitcher.

Maki replaces Eric Rasmussen, who worked for the Twins for 27 seasons before his September firing. Rasmussen was the Twins minor league pitching coordinator for nine seasons and 18 seasons working with affiliates. He was with the major league team as pitching coach for six weeks in 2016 following Neil Allen's suspension following a drunken-driving arrest.

@PMak26 is Maki's Twitter account.
