TWINS UPDATE

After this weekend, the Twins will have played every AL Central Division opponent. ... Pelfrey is looking for his first win since April 23, 2014, which came during an injury-plagued season. ... He wasn't very sharp in his season debut against the White Sox last week, but he is 1-1 with a 2.86 ERA in four career starts against the Indians. ... The Twins were 8-11 against Cleveland last season, including 4-5 at Target Field. ... Phil Hughes is 4-1 with a 2.80 ERA in seven starts against Cleveland. ... Somehow, Hughes was a better pitcher on the road last season, going 9-5 with a 2.78 ERA, than he was at Target Field, where he was 7-5, 4.25. Also keep in mind that Hughes was 2-1, 5.14 in April last year before taking off on a run that would see him finish with 16 wins and a renegotiated contract.

Cleveland righthander Carlos Carrasco was hit in the face by a line drive on Tuesday. Instead of facing the Twins this weekend, Carrasco will be given a couple of extra days to rest. ... The Indians have called up righthander Danny Salazar (left) to start on Saturday. Salazar can throw his fastball 100 miles per hour but failed to make the team out of spring training because of consistency issues. He's 1-1 with a 3.86 ERA in four career starts against the Twins. ... T.J. House's full name is Glenn Anthony House. He was knocked out in the second inning of his start against Detroit last week, but House could make Target Field his home. He's 3-0 with a 2.01 ERA in three starts against the Twins.
