PORT CHARLOTTE, FLA. – Good thing this is spring training, where the Twins could leave pleased on Saturday after four no-hit innings by Trevor May, two hits from Eduardo Escobar and another solid outing from lefthander Aaron Thompson.

Otherwise, they would have headed home muttering to themselves after yielding just three hits all day but still losing 4-2 to the Rays — on a home run, double and walk-off home run,

It started as soon as May left the game following a strong performance. Mark Hamburger replaced him and gave up a blast to Juan Francisco that passed just to the left of the batter's eye in center field. Overall, Hamburger showed better command of his breaking pitches as he struck out three of the seven batters he faced. But Francisco got him good.

"I don't know Francisco that well," Twins manager Paul Molitor said, "but I don't think you ever get him off the fastball."

The Twins came back with RBI singles from Eduardo Escobar and Eduardo Nunez in the fifth to take a 2-1 lead. It stayed that way until the ninth, when A.J. Achter gave up a leadoff double followed by a walk. Corey Brown grounded to former first-round pick Levi Michael, who stepped on second for one out but threw wildly to first, allowing Kevin Kiermaier to score the tying run. Two batters later, Allen Dykstra hit a two-run home run to right.
