TWINS UPDATE

Twins manager Ron Gardenhire plans to play Brian Buscher at first base sometime during this 10-game road trip so Justin Morneau, who has played in every game this season, can get a break. ... Saturday is a big start for Glen Perkins, who was handed 4-2 and 5-1 leads in his past two outings but failed to get out of the sixth inning. ... Delmon Young is 1-for-12 in his career against Daniel Cabrera.

ORIOLES UPDATE

The Orioles were 61-63 on Aug. 17 then went 4-17 through Thursday's 6-3 victory against Cleveland. Opponents scored at least seven runs in 11 of those games ... Closer George Sherrill, who has been out because of shoulder inflammation, is expected to be activated from the disabled list in time for the series. ... Melvin Mora is batting .393 since the All-Star break but he hasn't played since Aug. 29 because of a strained hamstring.
