Royals GM Dayton Moore hinted at big roster changes in an interview with the Kansas City Star this week.
"I've made up my mind on this team," he said. "I've got a pretty good idea on where we need to go and what we need to do. I've been watching this team for two years now. It's the same [core] group of guys."
Manager Trey Hillman appears safe, however.
"No question," Moore said. "I can't think of a better person who would have been -- and remains -- as committed to what we're trying to do here. He has sold out on what we're trying to do here."

Unsold on third base prospect Josh Fields, the White Sox might look to re-sign Joe Crede this offseason. Crede was an All-Star this year but had back surgery last season and hasn't been a factor since reinjuring himself in late July.
Fields hit 23 home runs for the White Sox last season, but injuries limited him this year as he batted only .246 with 10 homers and 35 RBI in 75 games for Class AAA Charlotte.
Even when healthy, Fields hasn't impressed White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen with his defense. Guillen has stuck with Juan Uribe at third, largely because of his defense.
