FIRST INNING

New York: With Twins starter Kyle Gibson pitching, Brett Gardner tripled to left. Brian Roberts doubled to right, scoring Gardner. Jacoby Ellsbury grounded out to second, moving Roberts to third. Mark Teixeira doubled to center, scoring Roberts. Teixeira moved to third on a passed ball by catcher Kurt Suzuki. Carlos Beltran hit a sacrifice fly to right, scoring Teixeira.

Twins: With Yankees starter Chase Whitley pitching, Brian Dozier homered to left-center. Yankees 3, Twins 1

SECOND INNING

New York: Francisco Cervelli doubled to left. Kelly Johnson grounded out to first, moving Cervelli to third. Brendan Ryan hit a sacrifice fly to center, scoring Cervelli. Gardner walked. Roberts hit a ground-rule double to left, moving Gardner to third. Ellsbury singled to right, scoring Gardner and Roberts.

Twins: Chris Colabello homered to right.

THIRD INNING

Twins: Kendrys Morales singled to right. Oswaldo Arcia tripled to center, scoring Morales. Trevor Plouffe singled to center, scoring Arcia. Yankees 6, Twins 4

EIGHTH INNING

Twins: With Yankees reliever Dellin Betances pitching, Morales singled to left. Eduardo Escobar ran for Morales. Arcia was hit with a pitch, moving Escobar to second. Plouffe flied out to right. Nunez stole third and Arcia stole second. Colabello grounded out to second, scoring Nunez. Yankees 6, Twins 5
