Twins-White Sox pregame: Arcia returns to lineup

Posted by: La Velle E. Neal III Updated: June 20, 2014 - 5:07 PM

Oswaldo Arcia is back in the startling lineup tonight as the Twins prepare to take on the White Sox in Target Field.

Arcia was was benched for two games in the midst of 10-game skid in which he's batting .063 with a .094 slugging percentage. Twins manager Ron Gardenhire gave Chris Parmelee starts in Arcia's place.

But Arcia is back in there today, and the Twins hope he's brining lightning in his bat.

``Watching a game or two, for these young guys, is not a bad thing,'' Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said.

Gardenhire said that Arcia just needs to slow the game down a little bit, because he was, `trying to hit it 1,000 miles.'

Not that there was any doubt, but Gardenhire said today that Pino definitely will remain in the starting rotation after holding Chicago to two runs over seven innings.

Can Ricky Nolasco join in on the fun? Twins starters have a 2.41 ERA over their last nine outings.
