TWINS UPDATE

This is the first stop on a five-game interleague road trip that takes them to San Francisco over the weekend. The Twins are 9-10 on the road, but have won two of their past three road series. … They are 0-3 in interleague play, having been swept at home by the Dodgers earlier this month, and they have lost seven consecutive games against National League teams, their longest such interleague skid since play began in 1997. They are 9-3 against the Padres and have won the past six meetings, including a three-game sweep at Petco Park in 2008 and another sweep at Target Field in 2011. … Brian Dozier leads the American League in runs with 40; Trevor Plouffe leads the AL in doubles with 17; and C Kurt Suzuki is sixth in batting average at .312.
