Three Twins postgame thoughts from LEN3: Correia, offense, Florimon

Here are three quick thoughts following the Twins' 6-1 win over Baltimore:

1. TWINS STARTERS RESPOND: Kevin Correia followed Ricky Nolasco's complete-game on Friday with seven strong innings on Saturday. The Twins only won Saturday's game, but the starting rotation is in position to get on a little roll here before it goes on the road to play a couple division foes. Correia got ahead in the count consistently on Saturday, which helps any pitcher. ``Big. A couple guys I had 3-0 on but I was able to come back and get back ahead,'' Correia said. ``Getting that first strike over puts the pressure on the hitter instead of you.'' It is now Phil Hughes' turn.

2, TWINS HITTERS MAKE ADJUSTMENTS: That didn't take long. Word is out that the Twins are being more patient at the plate and teams have begun more aggressive throwing strikes early in the count, which was expected. Twins hitters met before today's game and agreed that they now need to be more aggressive instead of taking strikes. This is the adjustment game. ``We've let a lot of fastballs go over the plate,'' Brian Dozier said. ``A lot of strikes.''

3. FLORIMON: I can watch the kid play defense all day. He went to the edge of the grass in the seventh to gobble up Jonathan Schoop's grounder and easily threw a laser to first base for the out. Florimon had a very good defensive game - he also had a hit and scored a run. It was one of those days you wished he was more of a threat at the plate. He isn't, so Eduardo Escobar is getting more starts and we're about to see Danny Santana there soon, too.
