SELECTION SUNDAY

The rosters for the 79th All-Star Game will be announced today (1 p.m., TBS). Joe Mauer, batting .325, is expected to become the first Twin voted in as a starter since Torii Hunter in 2002, and the first Twin to start at catcher since Earl Battey in 1965. Among American League first basemen, teammate Justin Morneau was running second in fan voting. Twins closer Joe Nathan also has All-Star numbers (24 saves, 1.26 ERA). The All-Star Game is July 15 at Yankee Stadium.
