coming this week on the draft

The Star Tribune will have daily coverage previewing the baseball amateur draft, which starts Thursday. The Twins have the No. 4 overall pick after picking Byron Buxton No. 2 last year.

Monday: A look at how slotting — where Major League Baseball assigns suggested bonus money for each pick — has changed the draft.

Tuesday: Indiana State lefty Sean Manaea started the season as a likely top five pick. But an injury suffered at the Metrodome has made him one of the draft’s biggest questions.

Wednesday: Minnesota high schools have a collection of likely top-five-round picks, including OF Ryan Boldt, Red Wing; P Logan Shore, Coon Rapids; and P Max Knutson, Mounds View.

Thursday: A look at the players the Twins figure to have available with the No. 4 overall pick, and an overall look at the strengths and weaknesses of this draft class.
