Twins to discount some tickets based on price of gasoline

Last update: June 2, 2008 - 1:42 PM

With attendance down this year compared to last, the Minnesota Twins are tying a ticket-discount promotion to the price of gasoline.

The team's "Tanks from the Twins" plan adjusts the price each Monday morning of certain tickets based on the current national average for a gallon of gas.

During that week, a single-game ticket in the upper club and lower reserved sections of the Metrodome bought for any game this season will be discounted by that amount. For more information, visit www.minnesota.twins.mlb.com.

Attendance at Twins home games this year has averaged 24,760, down from the average of 27,568 at this time last season.
