Chart: Twins' top 10 prospects

TWINS' TOP 10 PROSPECTS

1. MIGUEL SANO, 3B

Massive power potential, but Sano must prove that he can stick at third base, skillwise and sizewise. Some are predicting a move to the outfield or first base. 2012 team: Beloit (Class A).

2. BYRON BUXTON, OF

The speed is fantastic. He has been timed under 4.0 seconds from home to first -- and he's a righthanded hitter. The Twins believe he will develop some power as he matures. 2012 team: Elizabethton (rookie).

3. ALEX MEYER, RHP

The power pitcher throws a 95-mph sinker and can touch 100 with his four-seam heater. Could start at New Britain, move to Rochester and be in position for his MLB debut in September. 2012 team: Potomac (Class A, Washington Nationals).

4. OSWALDO ARCIA, OF

He's coming off his best year as a pro, one in which his bat drew comparisons to Jason Kubel's. Could be in a Twins uniform before the season ends. 2012 team: New Britain (Class AA).

5. TREVOR MAY, RHP

Has impressive strikeout totals but needs to refine his command. Another pitcher who -- if things break right -- could make his debut this year. 2012 team: Reading (Class AA, Philadelphia Phillies).

6. KYLE GIBSON, RHP

Would be ranked higher if not coming back from Tommy John surgery, because he does have the stuff to hold down a No. 2 spot in the rotation. Will be on an innings limit (120-130). 2012 team: Rochester (Class AAA).

7. AARON HICKS, OF

Once was the top prospect in the organization, which shows how deep the list has become. Began to put his game together last season. Good speed, great arm, will draw walks. 2012 team: New Britain (Class AA).

8. EDDIE ROSARIO, 2B

The transition from the outfield continues, but he's committed to making it work. One look at his swing is convincing, and having that potential bat at second would be a bonus. 2012 team: Beloit (Class A).

9. JOSE BERRIOS, RHP

With a fastball in the mid-90s, good secondary pitches and a decent feel for pitching, Berrios projects as a No. 2 or No. 3 starter. He will be 19 in Class A ball this season. 2012 team: Elizabethton (rookie).

10. MAX KEPLER, OF

Born in Germany, Kepler is beginning to fill out physically and drive the ball more. Kepler, Buxton and Berrios could all be at Class A Cedar Rapids this season. 2012 team: Elizabethton (rookie).
