With the departure of Torii Hunter, the Twins needed a center fielder. Two possible replacements were the Mets' Carlos Gomez and the Red Sox's Jacoby Ellsbury. The Twins received Gomez in the Johan Santana deal; Ellsbury stayed with the Red Sox, who make their first and only appearance at the Metrodome this season tonight through Monday.
