With the departure of Torii Hunter, the Twins needed a center fielder. Two possible replacements were the Mets' Carlos Gomez and the Red Sox's Jacoby Ellsbury. The Twins received Gomez in the Johan Santana deal; Ellsbury stayed with the Red Sox, who make their first and only appearance at the Metrodome this season tonight through Monday. Here's how Gomez and Ellsbury have fared so far this season:
Player G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO SB AVG OBP
Gomez 29 122 19 34 7 2 2 11 3 31 13 .279 .302
Ellsbury 32 100 28 29 2 1 3 11 17 13 13 .290 .397
