What: Hall of Fame voting

Who: Baseball Writers Association of America

When: Ballots due Dec. 31

The announcement: Jan. 9

Ex-Twin watch: Jack Morris received 66.7 percent of the vote last year, short of the necessary 75 percent. This is his 14th (second to last) year of eligibility. He is the top returning vote-getter.

Three's company: If Morris gets in, he will join Dave Winfield and Paul Molitor as St. Paul natives in the Hall.

Big test: Three stars from baseball's steroid era -- Bobby Bonds, Roger Clemens and Sammy Sosa -- are on the ballot for the first time. Each would be a sure Hall of Famer without allegations of steroid use. The question is: How will voters respond to those rumors?
