The Twins' top prospects

Last update: March 29, 2008 - 3:04 PM

1. Deolis Guerra, RHP, St. Lucie (A)

Great size and mid-90s fastball -- at age 18!

2. Tyler Robertson, LHP, Beloit (A)

Good sinker and slider and solid pitching acumen.

3. Jeff Manship, RHP, Fort Myers (A)

Control prospect like Kevin Slowey.

4. Joe Benson, OF, Beloit (A)

Harnessing his great raw tools will take some time.

5. Ben Revere, OF, GCL Twins (rookie)

Promising start. In the system, only Carlos Gomez is faster.

6. Kevin Mulvey, RHP, New Orleans

(AAA) Has the stuff and control to be a No. 3 starter.

7. Wilson Ramos, C, Beloit (A)

Strong arm behind the plate, and Twins believe he will hit.

8. Brian Duensing, LHP, Rochester (AAA)

Good control of all his pitches. Great makeup.

9. Anthony Swarzak, RHP New Britain (AA)

Will jump up fast if he learns from drug suspension.

10. Nick Blackburn, RHP, Twins

Good curveball and cut fastball. Has slider and changeup.

11. Trevor Plouffe, SS, New Britain (AA)

His 37 doubles led the organization last year.

12. Danny Valencia, 3B, Fort Myers (A)

Twins' best hope for a traditional third baseman.

13. Phil Humber, RHP, Mets

Second year removed from Tommy John surgery.

14. Christopher Parmelee, OF, Beloit (A)

Proving that power sometimes takes time.

15. Jason Pridie, OF, Durham (AAA)

Does several things well, not great.

16. Alexi Casilla, 2B, Twins

Will be a factor once he smooths out rough edges.

17. Deibinson Romero, 3B, Beloit (A)

His bat has the Twins excited.

18. Ryan Mullins, LHP, Rochester (AAA)

Rail-thin lefty has to prove he is durable.

19. Denard Span, OF, Rochester (AAA)

Can revive his top prospect status with improvement at the plate.

20. Erik Lis, OF-1B, Fort Myers (A)

His bat is his ticket to the majors.
