TWINS UPDATE

The Twins are short a position player on the roster but will not announce who is being promoted from Class AAA Rochester until Friday. ... Ben Revere is batting .336 with 10 stolen bases and 20 runs scored over his last 28 games. ... Joe Mauer leads the Twins with 31 multihit games and is on pace for 51, which would be the second-most of his career. ... The Twins lost two of three in Seattle in May, including a 7-0 game on May 5 in which Felix Hernandez held them to one hit over eight innings.

MARINERS UPDATE

Safeco Field has become the nook of the no-no. Three no-hitters, including Hernandez's perfecto, have been thrown there this year. ... This is a battle between last-place teams, but the Mariners have played better lately, winning 12 of 19. ... Iwakuma once was on the Twins' radar, but they were outbid for his negotiating rights by Oakland after the 2010 season, although he failed to reach a deal and returned to Japan. Seattle signed him this past offseason.
