TWINS UPDATE

Looking at statistics since the All-Star break, the Twins entered Thursday ranked first in the American League in batting average (.285), second in runs scored (145) and third in on-base percentage (.350). ... Since the break, Justin Morneau is batting .341 with a .390 OBP and .560 slugging percentage. ... De Vries had a quality start for the fifth time in seven starts Saturday, giving up two runs over seven innings at Boston.

RAYS UPDATE

Tampa Bay is 8-3 in its past 11 games and arrives after a three-game sweep over Toronto. ... Third baseman Evan Longoria is 4-for-12 with one double since returning from a hamstring injury Tuesday, after missing 85 games. ... Hellickson lasted only four innings and gave up four runs to Baltimore in his last start. ... Closer Fernando Rodney hasn't given up a run in his past 19 appearances, notching 14 saves in that span.
