TWINS UPDATE

The disturbing trend has continued for the Twins this season at Target Field. After Oakland hit four more homers on Sunday, opponents are outhomering the Twins 57-43 at home this season. And opponents hit more homers than the Twins at Target Field in each of its first two seasons. ... Both Justin Morneau and Trevor Plouffe are bringing 13-game hitting streaks into the series. Morneau is batting .315 during his streak, and Plouffe is batting .308 during his. ... The Twins began the season by getting swept in a three-game series at Baltimore.

ORIOLES UPDATE

Jim Thome had three hits on Sunday and is batting .257 since being traded to Baltimore. He homered twice here during interleague play before the Phillies dealt him to the Orioles. He's hit 61 career homers against the Twins and 24 at Target Field. ... Outfielder Nick Markakis returned to action on Friday after being out since June 1 because of hamate bone surgery. ... Second baseman Brian Roberts, who has battled concussion symptoms for two seasons, now has a torn labrum in his right hip that could force him to miss the rest of the season.
