TWINS UPDATE

Opponents have stolen 37 bases in 46 attempts. That's the fifth-highest percentage (.804) in baseball, and it will encourage teams to keep running. Pitchers have to hold runners on better, but Joe Mauer has thrown out only 17 percent of the baserunners trying to steal on him (4-for-24), half of his career mark of 34 percent. ... The Twins lost 5-4 and 5-0 to Cleveland at Target Field on May 14-15. Since then, they have recalled Ben Revere and activated Justin Morneau off the disabled list. ... Reliever Alex Burnett didn't throw any curveballs in his outing Monday against Oakland, suggesting he might still be having problems with his elbow, but he didn't appear to have any trouble Wednesday, when he threw two hitless innings on 23 pitches.

INDIANS UPDATE

Cleveland's rotation gets a boost with the return of Tomlin, who won his first outing off the 15-day disabled list (right wrist), beating Kansas City on Monday, though he gave up four runs in five innings. Still, the Indians' resolve is being tested. Talented catcher Carlos Santana is on the seven-day concussion disabled list. Former Gophers third baseman Jack Hannahan is on the DL because of a left calf strain. And slugger Travis Hafner had right knee surgery on Thursday and will miss up to six weeks. ... If you're wondering about outfielder Grady Sizemore, he is still out following hernia surgery in March. He is waiting for clearance to play in minor league games. ... Lowe has lost his past two starts since shutting out the Twins on May 15.
