TWINS UPDATE
The Twins will kick off a six-game homestand coming off of their first winning multi-city road trip since May 30-June 8. "We've played some pretty good baseball teams and have played pretty good," manager Ron Gardenhire said. "There's a confidence level that's up there. We expect to win." ... This will be a good test for Walters, who will be facing the Tigers for the second time in 10 days. The hitters will be familiar with him after his May 17 start in Detroit, so Walters might have to prove he can make adjustments. ... If the Twins manage to win this series, they will match their win total vs. the Tigers from 2011, when they went 4-14 against them.
TIGERS UPDATE
Everyone is waiting for the Tigers to get on a roll, but they just were swept in three games at Cleveland. The unstoppable tandem of Miguel Cabrera and Prince Fielder has been stoppable. They are in the bottom half of the AL in ERA, runs scored and fielding percentage. "We're not scoring," manager Jim Leyland told reporters after Thursday's loss. "We're not swinging. That pretty much sums it up. I don't know what else to tell you." ... The Tigers put outfielder Austin Jackson (abdominal strain) on the 15-day disabled list. Ryan Raburn will take his place on the roster after returning from bereavement leave.
