The Twins this morning announced that they have optioned pitcher Jeff Manship and outfielder Joe Benson to Class AAA Rochester.

In addition, the Twins reassigned catcher Rene Rivera and middle infielder Pedro Florimon to their minor league camp, which leaves 34 players in the major league camp. That total includes 16 pitchers, nine infielder, five outfielders and four catchers.

Of the four players sent down, all but Florimon have spent time on the major league roster during the regular season -- and none were seen as having a good chance to make the final 25-man roster.
