FORT MYERS, FLA. - Well, at least the scoreless streak has ended. Just not the losing streak.

The Twins lost 3-2 to St. Louis on Friday, during which they ended a 27-inning scoreless streak.

OK, so the Twins scored both of their runs on bases-loaded walks. They both count, the drought is over and they can move forward.

Spring training is about progression. First things first. End the scoreless drought. Now, they can focus on getting an extra-base hit. They haven't had one in five games.

Then they can win a game. The loss to St. Louis was their third in a row and they have lost five of their past six.

The game on Friday ended in the ninth with the bases loaded, as Rene Tosoni grounded out. Wilkin Ramirez was 2-for-2 to lead the Twins' six-hit attack.

"We had plenty of opportunities to knock some runs in,'' Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said. "We hit some balls hard.''

But Gardenhire couldn't resist taking a shot at himself. He noticed some gnats were buzzing around his office after the game.

"They are circling around my lineups,'' Gardenhire said.
