Jamey Carroll
The Twins officially announced that they have agreed to terms with infielder Jamey Carroll on a two-year contract with an option for 2014.
The deal was first reported late last week.
Carroll, 37, batted .290 with 14 doubles, six triples and 17 RBI in 146 games for the Los Angeles Dodgers last season. The Twins will be his fifth team.
Carroll played for the Montreal Expos/Washington Nationals (2002-05), Colorado Rockies (2006-07), Cleveland Indians (2008-09) and Los Angeles Dodgers (2010-11).
He has played second base, shortstop and third base -- and, right now, is expected to open spring training as the Twins' No. 1 shortstop.
