TWINS SHAKEUP

• Terry Ryan, who was Twins general manager for 13 seasons (1995-2007), returns to his former job on an interim basis.

• Bill Smith, relieved of his duties Monday, will take time ponder his future and might stay with the Twins in another capacity.

• Former Cincinnati Reds GM Wayne Krivsky, an assistant to Ryan during the team's rebuilding of the early 2000s, will be hired as a special assistant, the team confirmed. Krivsky will serve as Ryan's top major league talent evaluator.
