The Twins on Friday cleared space on their 40-man roster by outrighting four players to Class AAA Rochester: catcher Rene Rivera, infielder Matt Tolbert, outfielder Jason Repko and righthander Anthony Slama. Tolbert, Repko and Rivera all become free agents, but the Twins retain their rights to Slama.

The team also reinstated righthander Nick Blackburn and infielder Alexi Casilla from the 60-day disabled list, leaving two spots open on the 40-man roster.

Also on Friday, the Twins' concluded week-long organizational meetings in Fort Myers, Fla., where they evaluated the club and discussed offseason strategies.

Butera, Valencia join Taiwan tour Twins catcher Drew Butera and third baseman Danny Valencia are part of the 19-man roster announced Friday for Major League Baseball's Taiwan exhibition tour next month.

The roster is headlined by Yankees stars Robinson Cano and Curtis Granderson, Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera and Giants third baseman Pablo Sandoval. The team will play five games Nov. 1-6.
