No, we're not suggesting the Twins should enter 2012 with Trevor Plouffe at DH and Rene Tosoni in right field. The goal here is simply to show what the Twins would have heading into next season, assuming their injured players return and they fail to sign any of their free agents.

This also shows next year's salaries for the players under contract, with estimates given for arbitration, etc.

This year's Opening Day payroll, for the 25-man active roster, was $113 million. The Twins would spend about $83 million on the 25-man collection below, which means they have about $30 million of wiggle room, unless they decide to cut payroll.
