The Twins are 31-8 in their past 39 games against the White Sox, including 7-1 this year. They last met in the final series before the All-Star break, with the Twins winning three of four in Chicago. The Twins have hit only three homers against the White Sox this year but outscored them 32-17. ... Blackburn is 1-4 with a 7.55 ERA in his past seven starts, but he is 3-0 with a 2.75 ERA against the White Sox this year and 9-5 with a 3.72 ERA against them for his career. Pavano is 0-2 with a 12.00 ERA in his past three starts. Duensing went 3-1 with a 3.48 ERA in July but surrendered five runs over six innings in Tuesday's loss to the Angels.

WHITE SOX UPDATE

Chicago is 15-20 vs. the AL Central, the Twins 22-17. Even last year, when the White Sox challenged the Twins into mid-September for the division title, they went 32-40 in division play, compared to 47-25 for the Twins. ... White Sox fans have reached the point of outrage with Alex Rios and Adam Dunn. Rios is batting .207 with a .546 OPS, and Dunn is at .167 with a .604 OPS. Dunn also is batting .039 (3-for-77) vs. lefties. "I want to cry," manager Ozzie Guillen said of Dunn's struggles. "A lot of swing and miss. A lot of times, he's guessing what's coming, and a lot of times he's maybe guessing wrong."
