TWINS UPDATE

The Twins have been forced to be road warriors. They began the season with 40 of their 61 games on the road. They went 17-23 in those 40. Now they have 19 of their next 25 and 30 of their next 40 games at Target Field. "We need to give [the fans] some entertainment at home, and it's about time," Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said. "We have been away enough." ... He's batting only .217 with one homer, but catcher Rene Rivera has impressed the Twins so much that they might have to decide between him and Drew Butera as a backup when Joe Mauer returns to the lineup. ... The Twins were 7-3 against Texas last season, including 6-0 at Target Field. ... In two starts against Texas last season, Blackburn was 1-1 with a 3.21 ERA. ... Infielder Luke Hughes is batting .444 over his past five games.

RANGERS UPDATE

Shortstop Elvis Andrus is extremely talented. But manager Ron Washington, who started Andrus in 144 games last season, feels he wore him out last year and plans to rest him more this season. Andrus is on pace to start 141 games. ... Closer Neftali Feliz blew three save opportunities in May but has rebounded to go 3-for-3 in save situations this month. ... Just think where the Rangers would be if injured starter Tommy Hunter, 13-4 with a 3.73 ERA last season, was healthy. Hunter has been sidelined all season because of a right groin muscle pull. Despite the rotation looking solid, Hunter is expected to start once he gets healthy, which could happen by the end of the month.
