TWINS UPDATE

The Twins have lost their past six games against Detroit and are 1-7 in their past eight games at Comerica Park. ... Alexi Casilla stole his 40th career base on Sunday. He's 40-for-46 in stolen bases for his career. His 87 percent success rate is the highest for a Twins player with a minimum of 40 career steal attempts. ... The Twins are only 3-11-3 in all series this year and have yet to win a three-game series this season. That includes two victories over Cleveland last month in a series shortened to two games by a rainout. ... Twins starters have gone at least seven innings in nine of their past 12 starts. ... The Twins have been working with Danny Valencia to improve his footwork so he doesn't have to rely so much on his arm to get outs. "Just move your feet a little bit, shorten the distance and make an easier throw," manager Ron Gardenhire said.

TIGERS UPDATE

Detroit traded infielder Scott Sizemore to Oakland on Friday for lefthander David Purcey, who pitched 32/3 innings against the Twins on May 19, giving up a solo home run to Rene Rivera. Purcey opened the season with Toronto, but was traded to Oakland in April for a minor leaguer. ... Outfielder Magglio Ordonez has been on the disabled list because of right ankle weakness since May 11 and has looked good in recent workouts. But he will miss the series because he needs to go on a rehabilitation assignment before he will be activated. ... The Tigers hoped Ryan Raburn's offense would pick up with a move to second base. He went 0-for-4 Sunday in the first game of a doubleheader, dropping his average to .195. He was not in the lineup for the second game.
