What's next?

  • Updated: November 22, 2007 - 7:33 PM

Now that the Torii issue is settled, here are the other Twins story lines to follow this offseason:

Will they sign or trade ace Johan Santana?

After seeing the lefthander's $126 million asking price, they opened the door for trade offers.

And what about Joe Nathan?

Discussions with the closer's agent were very preliminary, but he's a free agent after 2008.

Where will Carlos Silva land?

The Twins offered him three years for less than $20 million. The righthander might double that elsewhere.

How will they fill their holes?

Matt Garza is another pitcher who could be traded to help address center field or third base.

Will they show foresight?

Rather than battle 1B Justin Morneau and RF Michael Cuddyer through arbitration, they will aim for long-term deals.
