NEW FACES
The three players the Twins received from Tampa Bay in exchange for Jason Bartlett, Matt Garza and Eduardo Morlan:
DELMON YOUNG age: 22 position: LF-RF
The skinny: The No. 1 overall pick in the 2003 draft batted .288 with 13 HR and 93 RBI in his first full major league season in 2007. Has had temper problems, earning 50-game suspension for flipping his bat into the chest of a AAA umpire in 2006 and three-game suspension for bumping a AA umpire in 2005.
BRENDAN HARRIS age: 27 position: ss
The skinny: Résumé reads like a young journeyman, having played with six major league teams since 2004. Has played second, shortstop and third in the majors. He became Tampa Bay's regular shortstop last season, batting .286 with 12 HR and 59 RBI. He made 11 errors in 87 games at shortstop for the Rays. Was part of the 2004 four-team trade that had the Twins sending Doug Mientkiewicz to the Red Sox.
JASON PRIDIE age: 24 position: OF
The skinny: Twins selected Pridie in 2005 Rule 5 draft, and liked the lefthanded-hitting outfielder but didn't have room on the roster. He batted .303 with the Rays' AA and AAA minor league teams last summer. Has average power (14 homers in 524 at-bats) and decent speed (26 stolen bases, 11 triples).
