Opener celebrations underway early

Twins fans were already lining up outside the Metrodome at 6 a.m. today on the first day of the regular season.

Twins fans were already lining up outside the Metrodome at 6 a.m. today on the first day of the regular season.

Lines of cars were flowing past the Metrodome, as motorists picked up coffee, hot dogs and doughnuts as part of a home opener celebration.

Later this morning, there will be a Twins rally at the Mall of America. Manager Ron Gardenhire and Hall of Famer Harmon Killebrew are expected to participate.

The Twins face the Baltimore Orioles tonight. First pitch is at 6:05 p.m.
