Pirates are beaten in preseason finale

Last update: March 31, 2007 - 7:27 PM

FORT MYERS, FLA. -- The Twins beat Pittsburgh 6-4 on Saturday and ended exhibition play with a 14-17-1 record.

Rondell White, Jason Bartlett and Brock Peterson each had two hits as the Twins came back from a 3-0 deficit. Joe Mauer tied the score with a bases-loaded double in the third inning. Peterson led off the sixth with a homer to left.

The Twins succeeded in their desire to get through the game without additional injuries. Mauer and Nick Punto, coming back from injuries, had no setbacks.

Afterward, a bunch of nattily attired characters boarded a bus for the airport and a plane to take them to the Twin Cities.

I made this championship belt for the push to the '09 Division Title. Gladden offered to buy it; I wanted a trade for one of his rings. He declined.
