SARASOTA, FLA. - Four games into spring training, the Twins have looked awful. And those were just the moments when they weren't causing bodily harm.

Boof Bonser lasted only one inning as the Cincinnati Reds pounded him for three runs on five hits en route to a 14-1 victory at Ed Smith Stadium.

The Reds finished with 25 hits, the most for any team in a spring training game since the Marlins had 26 hits against the Brewers on March 7, 2006.

The Twins are 0-3-1, with injuries up and down the roster. This time, Jason Kubel provided a scare in the fourth inning, when he planted his surgically repaired left knee awkwardly trying to chase a bloop single in right field. He lay on the ground for a moment but remained in the game.

Another scare came in the sixth, when 6-4 first baseman Garrett Jones trampled 5-9 second baseman Alexi Casilla chasing a fly ball.

"I don't like playing like this," manager Ron Gardenhire said. "That's not any fun at all, no matter who's on the baseball field."
