Adapted Soccer: Defending champions reach semis

Raymond Kennedy scored four goals and Ethan Brenna added two more, leading Robbinsdale/Hopkins/Mound-Westonka to a 7-1 victory over St. Paul Highland Park in the quarterfinals of the PI Division of the Adapted Soccer State Tournament Friday at Stillwater.

The Robins (10-0-1) won all three PI state championships last year.

They will face Mounds View/Irondale/Roseville in today's upper-bracket semifinal. The Rams upset South Suburban 10-4 behind four goals from Mark Braun.

In other quarterfinals, Anoka-Hennepin beat St. Paul Humboldt 11-1 and Dakota United downed Park Center 9-2.

CI Division

Anoka-Hennepin remained perfect on the season, beating Dakota United 9-4. Tyler Kurkowski scored five goals for the Mustangs, who improved to 11-0.

In other quarterfinals, defending champion Park Center outlasted Chaska/Chanhassen/Prior Lake/Shakopee 2-1, Mounds View/Irondale/Roseville beat Burnsville/Farmington/Lakeville 3-1 and South Suburban beat St. Cloud 6-4.

The semifinals and finals in both divisions will be held today at Stillwater.
