Before the presses were finished rolling on the state edition of Saturday's newspaper, an error I made at 9:30 p.m. was racing around the world and coming right back to me.

It was corrected within a few minutes, but still...what a world we live in. Here's what happened:

The Eden Prairie-Wayzata football game ended a little before 9:30, and I had to have a story written for the state edition by 9:45. Eden Prairie punter Brett Ervin was one of the stars tonight, but in my rush to meet the deadline I typed his first name as "Brady." Before long the state edition story was on the internet, I was receiving emails and a phone call was made to the sports department.

I have covered lots of Eden Prairie athletic events, and Brady Ervin is Brett's older brother. So there I went, typing fast and thinking slow.

So for the record, it's Brett ... although in the state edition of the paper he is known as Brady.

I think that makes the state edition some kind of collector's item ... at least for Brady Ervin.
