Pitcher • Tim Bado, Eden Prairie, sr.: The lefthander emerged as the top pitcher for the state tournament-bound Eagles and one of the top pitchers in the state. He compiled an 8-2 record with a 1.86 ERA and 79 strikeouts in 64 innings pitched.
Pitcher • T.J. Oakes, Jordan, sr.: The son of Gophers pitching coach Todd Oakes, the 6-5 righthander will join his father next year. He went 5-2 with a 0.71 ERA and 60 strikeouts in 48 innings pitched. Also hit .388 with three home runs and 16 RBI.
Pitcher • Sean Borman, Hopkins, sr.: RHP with a live arm and a powerful bat. The Royals ace went 7-2 with a 1.25 ERA and struck out 48 batters. Hit .430 with three homers, 24 RBI and a .541 on-base percentage. Will play at Des Moines Area Community College.
Pitcher • Shawn Riesgraf, Chaska, sr.: The Hawks suffered significant losses to graduation, but the St. Cloud State recruit helped keep them in the thick of the Lake Conference race. He went 7-1 with two saves, a 1.11 ERA and 65 strikeouts in 63 innings pitched.
Catcher • Brooks Beilke, Buffalo, sr.: In three varsity seasons, the Western Michigan recruit threw out 25 of 35 would-be base stealers. Opponents only attempted nine stolen bases this season. He also hit .400 with two home runs, 22 runs and 19 RBI.
Shortstop • Wes Satzinger, Andover, sr.: Satzinger hit .584 with nine doubles, three home runs, 19 RBI and 15 stolen bases as a leadoff hitter. He also went 6-1 with a 3.38 ERA on the mound. He will play at North Dakota State.
Shortstop • Ryan Abrahamson, Tartan, sr.: The Metro Player of the Year has all the tools: He can run, throw, field, hit for average and hit for power. Abrahamson hit .452 with a metro-leading 13 home runs and 49 RBI. He has committed to the University of Minnesota.
Third base • Dylan Thomas, Lakeville North, sr.: Set school records for home runs in a season (eight) and career (16) while hitting .388, driving in 26 runs and scoring 28. He also went 3-2 with a 2.28 ERA as a pitcher. He will walk on at Florida Gulf Coast University.
Shortstop • Billy Soule, Wayzata, sr.: Another Gophers recruit, Soule hit .448 in the tough Classic Lake Conference with 39 hits (17 for extra bases) and 24 RBI and 11 stolen bases. He also compiled a 1.26 ERA as a pitcher with 59 strikeouts in 44 innings pitched.
Outfield • Travis Kulla, Maple Grove, sr.: As good as the fleet Kulla is offensively -- .393 average, 37 runs, 33 hits and 17 stolen bases -- his real value is his defense. He made only one error and routinely robbed opponents of hits.
Outfield • T.J. Klein, Centennial, sr.: After a slow start to the season (0-for-14), Klein has played his best in big games, helping the Cougars to the Class 3A state tournament. He improved his average to .446 and hit a whopping .704 in the section playoffs.
Outfield • Tyler Lang, Glencoe-Silver Lake, sr.: He made a name for himself as a linebacker for the state champion football team, but he might be a better baseball player. The Minnesota State Mankato recruit had eight homers and 26 RBI and led the metro with 44 runs scored.
